Visitors to Valentines Mansion for London Open House are in for a treat this Sunday. Valentines Mansion is proud to be taking part in this years annual celebration of the capitals most wonderful buildings, and has a number of events throughout the day to ensure a great day out at the Mansion.
Doors open to the public at 11am, and for those keen to learn about the fascinating history of the Grade II* listed Mansion, our free guided tours are the perfect choice. Led by our costumed guide, this introductory tour will give you a great insight into the previous owners of Valentines, built in 1696. Tours will take place at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm. Spaces will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
Families are also in for a real treat! Visit the Morning Room and take part in our special free activity, “Georgian Beauty Regimes” and learn about the bizarre and often deadly world of the Georgian beauty regime, design your own outrageous wig and learn how to talk with a handmade fan!
Between 1pm and 3pm, local historian and author Georgina Green will be available to meet and you can learn all about her new book, Sir Charles Raymond of Valentines and the East India Company. PLUS! you’ll also have the chance to buy her book at the special price of £12.50 (normal price £15).
